ITINERARY

Day 1:


Airport Negombo


On arrival we will greet you at the airport and pack your bags into your air conditioned vehicle. We will make our way to Negombo in order for you to relax and unwind after your flight. There are also many watersports to get involved with in the area should you wish to.

Day 2:


Negombo Mihintale Anuradhapura


After breakfast proceed to Anuradhapura where we will take you for a guided tour of the ancient city and UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the sacred Bo Tree which is revered in Buddhism as representing the commencement of the faith. Afterwards go to nearby Mihintale for sunset and the peaceful surrounds with plenty of resident monks who live in cave dwellings.

Day 3:


Anuradhapura Ritigala Aukana Sigiriya


After breakfast go off the beaten track and visit Ritigala Monastery Forest which is a wonderful leisurely walk amongst verdant forests and a dilapidated monastery. Then proceed to Aukana which houses one of the finest sculptures of Lord Buddha carved out of the side of a cliff. We will finish in Sigiriya for the night.

Day 4:


Sigiriya Polonnaruwa Sigiriya


Breakfast at hotel & then leave for Sigiriya rock fortress perhaps the most iconic site in Sri Lanka. Then proceed to Polonnaruwa for sightseeing. This can be done by cycling or by our vehicle. This city was the capital in-between the 11th-13th Centuries and houses some beautiful statues. Return to your hotel in the evening

Day 5:


Sigiriya Dambulla Matale Kandy


After breakfast leave for Dambulla Cave Temple which has beautiful paintings and sculptures within the caves. Afterwards visit a spice garden and a batik factoryen route. In the afternoon take a stroll around Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens and settle into your new hotel in a much cooler climate.

Day 6:


Kandy


Breakfast at hotel and then commence a city tour of Kandy including visits to upper lake drive, market square and gem museum. In the evening witness a Kandyan cultural dance performance. Experience the Buddhist puja blessing ceremony at the Temple of The Tooth. Arrive at hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Kandy

Day 7 :


Kandy Horton Plains NuwaraEliya


In the morning take a walk in Horton Plains andviewtheawe inspiring World’s End. This provides some of the best panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon we will proceed to NuwaraEliya where we will visit Ambewala farm and Strawberry fields.

Day 8:


NuwaraEliya Ella


In the morning visit a tea plantation and factory. Afterwards take the train from NuwaraEliya to Ella which is reputed to have the finest views of the Tea Country area. The train meanders through verdant forests and villages and is not to be missed. Arrive in Ella.

Day 9:


Ella


There are some great tranquil nature walks in the area. After breakfast you will visit Ravana Falls and Cave. For lunch you will visit Ella Rock for sumptuous views of the mountains in the area

Day 10:


Ella Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home Yala National Park


After breakfast make your way to Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home during feeding time and then proceed to visit Yala National Park for an afternoon safari. Yala is home to the highest densities of Leopards in the world and throughout the year there are sightings. There are many other species who call Yala their home including sloth bears, elephants, deer, crocodiles, buffalo, jackals, monkeys and 150 bird species. Truly abundant wildlife.

Day 11:


Yala National Park Galle Bentota


Once you have had breakfast we will take you along to the southwest coast famed for beautiful beaches, stilt fisherman and Galle fort. We will give you a tour around Galle Fort and then onto Bentota for relaxation

Day 12:


Bentota


A full day of relaxation in one of Sri Lanka’s finest beaches. There are optional watersports available as well. Or you could visit Brief Garden by Bevis Bawa the brother of famous Architect Geoffrey Bawa.

Day 13:


Bentota


Another day at your leisure.

Bentota Colombo


Enjoy some last minute shopping and a city tour including Colombo Museum, Independent square, Galle face, paradise road, Colombo fort, Hindu temple & Buddhist temple
